Dear colleagues, 

This year we will already organize the fifth edition of Amsterdam Live Endoscopy. It is difficult to believe that it is already five years ago that we held the first edition. We have been extremely satisfied with the course and with experiences and critiques that we received. The course is steadily growing without losing its intimacy and close contact with the guest-endoscopists. The Okura conference centre will have been completely renovated this December and this will again contribute to the goals of this meeting: providing excellent quality endoscopy teaching for doctors and nurses with as much interaction as possible in a pleasant surrounding.

We have again carefully selected our faculty, which will consist of new faces as well as familiar faces from previous years. The faculty is relatively small and changes every year, since I believe it is good to see and hear different experts at work, while explaining their approaches to clinical and endoscopic situations. This year Hironori Yamamoto form Yokohama will be with us for the second time, as well as Michael Bourke from Sydney, Michael Wallace from Jacksonville, Jacques Deviere from Brussels and Raf Bisschops from Leuven. New on the faculty list are Frank Vleggaar from Utrecht, Olivier Pech from Wiesbaden (with a quick guest appearance in 2010), Helmut Messmann from Augsburg and Ken Wang form Rochester. They will again provide the participants with state-of-the-art lectures, small-scale tips & tricks sessions and live demonstrations of common and high-end, diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy.

The Christmas atmosphere will be all around you in Amsterdam again when you join us on December 19 & 20, and we hope that you will be able to spend an extra day in our wonderful city.
